A bucket is a good drawing exercise for learning perspective. It's a simple shape, but with a dimension that's helpful to learn. You'll improve your drawing by learning to draw a bucket. See Step One for more specific instructions.

Draw an ellipse or oval, horizontally.

Draw two lines slanting inwards from the edges of the ellipse.

Draw a curve connecting the bottom of the two slanted lines. This curve follows the bottom half of the ellipse that started the bucket.

Draw a circle and a loop for a handle. Remember that the handle goes outside the bucket, and that you can't see the part of the handle that's behind the bucket.

Put some liquid in the bucket. The liquid follows the top curve of the bucket and goes all the way to the front edge.

If you want, try adding some shading and shadow to the bucket. Decide which side the light is on, then darken parts more that are further from the light.

You can use a ruler if you cannot draw straight lines.
Use a pencil to draw the initial shape if you want to be able to erase. Then, darken and color however you want.
Draw BIG! It's easiest to control and see what you're doing, that way.
If you struggle with handwriting, use a pencil grip to help you.
If you'd like to draw a mop to go with your bucket, make a stick with a circle on the end. Then, add some sprawling strings.
